VCT Floor Maintenance & Scrub-Recoat

Soil and traffic marks: Start with identifying the floor material and existing finish. Deep cleaning addresses soil; it does not automatically repair scratches, etching, a failing coating or a damaged substrate.

Worn but sound removable finish: A scrub and recoat may be appropriate when the existing finish is compatible and still suitable as a base. The condition needs assessment before another coat is applied.

Built-up or failed removable finish: Stripping removes an existing removable finish before an appropriate replacement finish is applied. It is different from removing VCT tiles or installing a new floor.

Marble, terrazzo and wood: These need a material-specific assessment. Do not assume that a wax or stripping process for VCT is suitable for stone, LVT or a wood coating. Identify the manufacturer’s care requirements and any prior treatments.

Office corridors, retail aisles and warehouse floors have different access needs. Tell us which areas can be closed, the time available and any routes that must remain open. Separate customer areas, back-of-house spaces and loading zones when defining the project.

A preferred overnight or weekend window is a scheduling request, not a promise that every floor will be ready at a fixed hour. Confirm the work sequence and reopening conditions before booking. Keep people and equipment away from areas still being treated or drying.
